Our Purpose

Myles Away From Home, Inc. was incorporated in New York on November 16, 2021, for multiple non-profit, charitable and educational purposes, all of which will be provided on a true charitable basis, without charge to the prisoners in state prisons or federal penitentiaries who benefit from our educational programs and activities, which include:

Founders: Clifton Coker, Deborah Coker & Kelvin Coker

Providing on a free of charge basis the means for low and moderate-income inmates convicted of nonviolent crimes in state and federal courts nationwide to find, retain and pay for legal counsel to represent them: (A) at trial; (B) at sentencing; (C) in post-conviction challenges to their convictions and/or sentences; and/or (D) in attempts at obtaining new sentencing hearings and/or reduced prison terms

Providing much needed financial and other assistance for the families of state and federal inmates who, like their loved ones serving time in prison, are forced to fend for themselves during challenging economic times;

Myles Away From Home’s team of attorneys will provide and/facilitate legal services for Myles Away From Home candidates

Partnering with criminal defense organizations, prisoner advocacy groups, professional membership organizations, Federal Defender offices nationwide, and U.S. Bureau of Prisons personnel on location, for the purpose of identifying qualified inmates who may benefit from this corporation's charitable and educational programs and activities;

Providing a limited number of scholarships for students of low-income families who desire to attend a college or university of their choice and focus their studies and professional lives in a field pertaining to criminal justice but who lack the financial means to pay for their education; and

Soliciting and receiving funding necessary to carry out the charitable and educational purposes of this corporation through donations, and by devise, bequest, or by any other means, of real and personal property of any kind, and to hold, accumulate, invest, or dispose of such property or the income derived therefrom in furtherance of this corporation's charitable and educational objects.

Our Mission

Myles Away From Home, Inc.’s mission is to provide hope for prisoners where there is despair, to provide an opportunity where there is potential, and to offer guidance through the unchartered and oftentimes intimidating territory of the legal process.

No substantial part of Applicant’s activities shall consist of carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and Myles Away From Home, Inc. shall not participate in or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements in connection with) any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office.
